Helen Mahy CBE

Helen is a respected chair and Non-Executive Director. She currently holds two directorships in the energy sector, as Chair of NextEnergy Solar Fund and as Senior Independent Director at SSE plc where she also chairs the Safety, Sustainability, Health and Environment Advisory Committee.  She is a Non-Executive Director at the law firm Gowling WLG and chair of the charity The Global Media Campaign to end FGM. Previously she was chair of The Renewables Infrastructure Group and MedicX Fund. Helen was a NED at Aga Rangemaster Group, Stagecoach Group, SVG Capital, Bonheur ASA and deputy chairman of Primary Health Properties. In her executive career Helen was General Counsel and Company Secretary of National Grid plc. She is a strong advocate for inclusion and diversity and was an Equality and Human Rights Commissioner and on the Steering board of the Parker Review in to Ethnic diversity on Boards. She is a patron of the Social Mobility Business Partnership. Helen was awarded a CBE in 2015.
